A passenger on the train that derailed in East Sussex has described how people and gadgets sailed through the air after a 'violent jolt'.

The eight-carriage train came off the line between Haywards Heath and Lewes at around 3.54pm this afternoon, with services set to be cancelled until 10pm.

Southern Railway said services will be cancelled until 10pm following the incident in Lewes.
