Results Day: Number of school leavers accepted on degree courses reaches record high

Record number of students get into university

The total number of UK 18-year-olds accepted on to degree courses has risen by 3 per cent on the same point last year, with a record high of 262,820 taking up places so far, initial Ucas figures show.
