Electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) companies are focusing more on the military market as commercial development has taken longer than expected and defense spending has ramped up, driven by wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The eVTOL company is trying to shore up its defense business with the acquisition of the Dayton, Ohio-based firm.

The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027 and will be funded via cash and common stock.
