The action follows a recall by Coast Citrus Distributors linked to a Sinaloa, Mexico grower, whose jalapeños are tied to a multistate salmonella outbreak that has sickened 345 people and hospitalized 36 across 27 states. The recalled items feature Best If Used By dates through August 16, 2026, and were sold at major retail stores including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Walmart. The full list of products is available on the FDA website.Taylor Fresh Foods has ceased sourcing from the Mexican farm and reported no known illnesses tied directly to its jalapeño products, advising consumers to throw away affected items for a refund. Consumers who have any recalled product are advised to throw it away immediately and avoid eating it.
