Tragedy strikes at popular UK beach as man dies after being pulled from sea

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man managed to safely exit the water, but a 24-year-old man was recovered at around 7.30pm and tragically pronounced dead at the scene despite resuscitation efforts. Sussex Police confirmed that the deceased's next of kin have been informed, and inquiries into the incident remain ongoing with an increased emergency service presence in the area. The drowning occurred as temperatures were set to reach 36C across parts of the country during the fifth heatwave of the summer, prompting water safety warnings from charities including the RNLI.
