Kinahan was arrested in Dubai in April after being named by the United States as one of three leaders of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, with a $5m reward offered for their arrest. The extradition follows months of preparation, with an Irish government jet transporting Kinahan from the UAE to Ireland on Saturday. The operation is described as one of the largest security undertakings by the Irish government, involving snipers, bomb-proof vans, and signal jammers.
