Typhoon Dolphin is bringing violent winds and heavy rain to southwestern Japan. Hundreds of thousands of people were ordered to evacuate their homes on Friday. Over 500 flights were cancelled as the storm approached the island chain. Toyota suspended operations at nine factories due to the approaching typhoon. Authorities warned of potential flooding and structural damage from the storm.

The large storm is forecast to cause strong winds and rainfall in parts of Japan, China and Taiwan.
