Kazakhstan's Caspian tiger was declared extinct due to hunting by the military and prey reduction, now the country has released its first tiger in the wild after 70 years

The last individual tiger in Kazakhstan was documented in 1948 near the Ili River and Lake Balkhash before the animal went extinct from the country. Till then, the country had been home to the native Caspian (Turan) tiger, but a combination of factors led to their extinction from their homeland.
