The 38-year-old, who previously managed Al-Ahli, has commenced his duties after meeting the squad at their pre-season training camp in La Manga over the weekend, with all necessary paperwork now finalised.The Magpies are understood to have paid a significant compensation package, reportedly exceeding £9 million, to secure the German’s services. Jaissle, who also had a spell at RB Salzburg, expressed his honour at the appointment. He said: "It is an incredible honour to become head coach of Newcastle United.
