Law college, river projects, welfare schemes: Budget unveils plans for Madurai

The Tamil Nadu government has presented its Revised Budget highlights for 2026–27, bringing a series of direct infrastructure, educational, and environmental announcements for Madurai alongside major State-wide welfare initiatives. Leading the direct allocations for the temple city is the establishment of a new special government law college in Madurai, scheduled to open its doors in the 2027–28 academic year with an initial intake of 300 students.
