Over one lakh senior citizens and four lakh women reported financial cyber fraud in 2025. These victims collectively lost over seven thousand crore rupees to fraudsters. The Ministry of Home Affairs shared this data based on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Police and public order remain state subjects, with central government support. The Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System aids immediate reporting of such financial crimes.
