Bob Montgomery, an 82-year-old Australian cyclist, died peacefully just one day after completing what he had called "One Last Ride," a 5,200-kilometre charity cycling journey across Australia with his 18-year-old grandson, Tom Malcolm. The pair finished the six-week ride in Bowral, New South Wales, on 2 August 2026 after travelling from Broome in Western Australia to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
