Trai issues draft service quality norms to accommodate controversial network slicing tech

Telecom regulator Trai has proposed new quality of service norms for mobile network slicing. These draft rules will allow telecom operators to charge different rates for various services. Network slicing will only be permitted when operators possess sufficient spectrum capacity. Trai also mandates that tariff offerings must have measurable download and upload speeds. Comments on these proposed changes are due by August 26.
