Train smashes through trailer after ‘intoxicated’ tractor driver stops on tracks

A passenger train smashed into a farm trailer in Poland on Monday (August 3), after a tractor driver stopped on a level crossing. CCTV released by Polish State Railways (PKP) captured the moment the tractor hauling trailers loaded with straw bales drove over the railway as barriers closed and warning lights flashed. The driver, who officials said was found to be intoxicated, stopped with the trailers still on the tracks before a passenger train crashed through them. No injuries were reported, but the railway said the driver had endangered the lives of around 500 people.
