Energy and chemicals producer Sasol reports that its earnings for the year to end-June will be higher than the prior year, owing to a combination of higher sales and prices, which more than offset the impact of the stronger rand. In a trading statement issued ahead of the release of Sasol’s financial results on September 1, the group said that its headline earnings per share (HEPS) would be between R36 and R40, up between 2% and 14% compared with the prior year HEPS of R35.13.
