Growth outlook hazy due to global trade volatility and monsoon challenges: RBI Governor Malhotra

RBI Governor Shri Sanjay Malhotra said on August 5, 2026 that "growth, although resilient, is expected to be lower in this financial year" and that the "outlook, however, is hazy because of the uncertainties regarding South's global trade policy," adding that there is "a need for greater clarity to emerge, especially regarding inflation, its path and composition before taking any policy action."
