Karnataka eyes full compliance with Cauvery release order by Friday

Karnataka will fully comply with the Cauvery Water Management Authority's directive by August 7. Improved rainfall has increased inflows into the Cauvery basin reservoirs significantly. The state had initially opposed the water release due to hydrological distress. Recent rains have enabled increased water releases to Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister cautioned that drought threats have not fully receded.
