SC issues directions to tackle digital fraud, asks RBI to circulate SOP on mule accounts

The Supreme Court has directed the Reserve Bank of India to create a standard operating procedure. This procedure will address bank accounts linked to cyber fraud and mule accounts. All states and Union Territories must expeditiously adopt grievance redressal modules for victims. Public awareness measures will inform citizens about available remedies and restoration processes. Authorities must submit reports on grievance registration and disposal under the new mechanism.
