CHENNAI: DMK leader and leader of opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin was detained from his residence in Neelankarai on Tuesday after a case was registered against him over his allegedly objectionable remarks made during a rally on the Cauvery water dispute in Thanjavur.

At a farmer's protest, Tamil actor and former Deputy CM of TN, Udhayanidhi Stalin, made a comment that rubbed the internet the wrong way.

TVK filed a complaint with the NCW against opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, alleging his remarks were vulgar and sexually suggestive, and demanded a public apology.
