Visuals from the first nuclear-powered icebreaker ‘Lenin’. It was designed and built to serve on the Northern Sea route, and in the Arctic. The ship was put into operation on December 3, 1959. In 1989, Lenin had been shut down. For 30 years it led thousands of ships through the ice and sailed for over 6,54,000 nautical miles and led 3,741 vessels through the ice. The icebreaker is now a museum.
