Census 2027: Enumeration in Ladakh, J&K, HP, Uttarakhand from Sept 1

Census 2027 work will begin in Ladakh and snow-bound areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will also participate in this upcoming enumeration exercise. Self-enumeration options will be available before the house-to-house population enumeration starts. This census will include the enumeration of castes and utilize digital tools for data collection. The reference date for this census is the first day of October 2026.
