Uefa has enlisted a leading US white-collar expert as legal tensions escalate over Gianni Infantino’s unsuccessful Fifa World Cup sell-off.

“It is the project of one person,” said FIFA’s chief operating officer Kevin Lamour, a long-time colleague of Infantino at both FIFA and UEFA.

European football's governing body had previously led the rebellion, announcing that their 55 member nations would boycott the World Cup if the plans weren't scrapped.
