Tweed, 39, pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court to driving a motor vehicle with a specified controlled drug above the legal limit, following an incident on 6 December 2025 near Chelmsford, Essex. Police stopped Tweed's Volkswagen Golf, and a roadside drug swipe led to a blood sample revealing 5.6 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his system, significantly exceeding the two-microgram limit. The court imposed a fine of £692, a surcharge of £277, and costs of £85, in addition to the statutory driving ban. Tweed, who now works as an electrician, apologised to the court, explaining that he used cannabis to help with trauma, depression, and anxiety, and had consumed it the night before driving.
