CAIRO: A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck northeast of the Egyptian city of Suez on Monday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. The shallow quake, which occurred at 0000 GMT, was centered about 41 kilometres (25 miles) north-northeast of Suez. The quake was felt in Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon and Cyprus, social media posts showed. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
