A war of words broke out between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday following the sentencing of former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and four others to life imprisonment for the murder of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 north-east Delhi riots.

Refuting the BJP's remarks linking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the February 2020 northeast Delhi riots, Bharadwaj said Hussain had political links with the BJP before the riots.
