The water level of the Danube River near Ruse has fallen to one of its lowest points in decades, reaching minus 88 centimeters on July 31, as Bulgaria continues to face a difficult hydrological situation caused by prolonged low water levels. Data from the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River showed that the level recorded near Ruse is among the lowest since measurements began in 1940.
