Nirmal Purja, a Nepal-born British citizen known for scaling the world's 14 highest peaks in record time, was leading the expedition on the world's 12th highest mountain. The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) is coordinating with government officials and mobilising army helicopters for the search and rescue operation, maintaining contact with the families of the missing climbers.
