The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to appoint a nodal officer in the Ministry of External Affairs to help families of Indians who died, went missing or were injured while fighting in the Russia-Ukraine war. The court also ordered assistance with DNA matching, compensation claims before the Russian Embassy, and legal support through NALSA and state legal services.
