Humpback whale leaps from the water off New York coast in stunning footage

The footage captured the whales 25 miles south of Long Island, showcasing a vibrant marine ecosystem. Researchers also observed fin whales lunging through fish schools, minke whales feeding, and dolphins riding boat bow waves. The New York Bight, one of North America's busiest marine areas, is increasingly becoming a popular habitat for whales and other marine animals. Dr Howard Rosenbaum of the WCS emphasised the extraordinary and growing importance of the New York Bight as a marine environment.
