Reform UK reported Mr Polanski to the police, with home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf accusing him of "inciting murder" and Nigel Farage calling for his arrest. Polanski told BBC Newsnight he did not pay enough attention to the T-shirt and was "horrified" by its "dangerous message," but refused to apologise to Mr Farage, stating it was a mistake. The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are "conducting inquiries" into the report, while work and pensions secretary Pat McFadden emphasised the duty of politicians to be careful with social media posts.
