The Southern Kaduna Peoples United Associations (SOKAPU) has alleged that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, threatened its National President, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, following the group's lawsuit seeking an independent investigation into the controversial death of 26-year-old nurse Mary Habila. At an emergency press conference on Tuesday, SOKAPU claimed that Umahi called Kato via WhatsApp at about 9:39 a.m. on July 28 after learning of the suit and a television interview the SOKAPU president granted on Channels Television on Sunday.

SOKAPU also joined Habila Tanko Wisdom, Mary Habila's father; Attorney-General of Ebonyi, and the state police commissioner as respondents
