The regulator launched its investigation after receiving 16 complaints alleging that the entities were providing investment advice and managing client portfolios without mandatory Sebi registration. The regulator said Stark Investments entered into advisory agreements with clients, charged advisory fees and issued stock-specific buy and sell recommendations through WhatsApp, Excel sheets and performance reports.
