The US’ slavery tariffs capturing Australia and dozens of other countries are “unjustified” and will hurt the two-way trading relationship, Anthony Albanese has declared while vowing to fight the decision “at every level”.

The Australian government slammed the new tariffs – which will rise from 10 per cent, under the guise of human rights – and said they should be removed.

The levy comes as the president tries to rebuild the trade wall struck down by the US Supreme Court in March.
