CDC confirms 4,173 U.S. Cyclospora cases as it investigates a lettuce-linked outbreak. More than 7,400 additional reports remain under review.

Cases of cyclosporiasis have topped 11,500 in 41 states, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday.

Infections caused by the parasite have led to more than 300 hospitalizations since May

Officials have not yet identified the source of the latest outbreak but said they have begun traceback efforts.
