Infections caused by the parasite have led to more than 300 hospitalizations since May

Federal health officials have been investigating five different clusters of cyclosporiasis cases since the start of parasite season in May, the FDA said on Monday.

The FDA is investigating at least five other clusters of cyclosporiasis, including an outbreak of 72 cases reported by the agency on Wednesday.

Officials have not yet identified the source of the latest outbreak but said they have begun traceback efforts.
