Monsoon intensifies across India: IMD warns of extremely heavy rain in Gujarat and Maharashtra, flash flood risk in several regions

There will be high monsoon activity over most parts of India for at least a week, according to the IMD, which predicts heavy rains and thunderstorms along with extremely heavy rains in isolated parts of several Indian states. Parts of India from the Himalayan region to the Konkan coast, central India, and northeast India could be affected by rains through July 28, making authorities issue a warning about flooding and landslides.
