'Take no legal action against CJP protesters': Wangchuk sets condition for govt to end hunger strike

Activist Sonam Wangchuk says, "I am still alive. This is the 25th day of my hunger strike. By the 25th day, I have lost around 11 kg of weight and have started losing a significant amount of muscle mass, but I am fine. Yesterday night, I was brought here to a private hospital in Gurugram from Safdarjung. I want to appreciate all those students who remained peaceful despite being hit with batons, did not retaliate, and showed patience even when they were provoked and when some elements were brought in to throw stones... I request the government not to use such force and power against the children. Secondly, I need an assurance that no cases or FIRs will be filed against them to harass them or put them in jail through police action. If I receive such an assurance soon, respecting the requests of all of you and the leaders who have come here, I will end my hunger strike today itself. But if no such assurance comes, unfortunately, I will have to continue this hunger strike."
