Relief materials were dropped in flood-affected Sivasagar, Assam, as the flood situation across the state remained grim. More than 5.64 lakh people across 16 districts have been affected by the deluge, with Sivasagar among the worst-hit areas. According to officials, floodwaters have submerged more than 24,210 hectares of crop land and affected 872 villages across 44 revenue circles.
