Thousands of people across the U.S. are suspected or confirmed to have been sickened with the illness.

The Health and Human Services Secretary addressed the cyclosporiasis outbreak during a press briefing on health care fraud.

Kennedy said the cyclosporiasis outbreak, which causes "explosive" diarrhea, was under control and said the CDC located the source.
