A UK minister has confirmed that a Russian naval vessel conducted a "live-fire weapons exercise" in international waters off the coast of Plymouth in south-west England.

The Russian frigate Neustrashimy was shadowed by HMS Tyne, while a French military aircraft also monitored the vessel.
