Karnataka: PRCs will help identify illegal immigrants, says Dy CM Parameshwara

Karnataka's Deputy CM G Parameshwara stated new PRCs will identify illegal immigrants. He rejected BJP claims that the certificates enable illegal Bangladeshis to obtain them. A PRC is not a citizenship document, which is granted by the Union government. Eligibility criteria include birth in Karnataka or ten years of residency. Revenue authorities will assess applications based on overall evidence and local inquiries.
