Schools in Jammu and Kashmir and Nainital will remain closed on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, following weather warnings. In Himachal Pradesh, schools in Sirmaur district will also remain closed, while authorities in other districts are monitoring conditions and may take local decisions if the weather worsens. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
