The report also highlights more than $41 million invested in suicide prevention efforts, including over 1.05 million suicide risk screenings, 252,000 lethal means safety conversations and 113,000 veterans receiving suicide-specific treatment.The progress comes against the backdrop of a challenge that remains urgent. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 6,398 veterans died by suicide in 2023. Face the Fight was founded on the belief that the military's promise to leave no one behind should not end when service members take off the uniform. That belief continues to guide the coalition's efforts to expand access to proven solutions and strengthen connections across communities nationwide."Impacting 1.4 million lives is an important milestone, but it is not the finish line," said Chris Ford, Face the Fight lead at USAA.
