At 18, most teenagers are thinking about college or their first job: but Tania Aebi set off across the Atlantic Ocean in a 26-foot sailboat, carrying little more than basic sailing experience, a determination to prove herself, and, for much of the voyage, her cat Tarzoon. Nearly two and a half years later, after covering roughly 27,000 nautical miles, visiting 23 countries, surviving storms, equipment failures and months of isolation, she returned home as the youngest person of her time to complete a solo circumnavigation of the globe.
