Peyton Watson turned into one of the league's most sought-after restricted free agents this summer, and the Lakers are reportedly on the outside looking in. Los Angeles has liked Watson's game since the trade deadline, but insider Jake Fischer says the front office simply doesn't have the assets to make a competitive offer to Denver.

The Nuggets want to retain the 23-year-old forward. But because they may not be able to afford him, other teams have entered the bidding.
