As 20 former TMC MP’s get recognition of separate identity ‘NCPI’, a sharp political war of words has erupted in West Bengal. TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee opened the doors for those who want to return to the party ahead of the July 21 programme. Abhishek said he was ready to resign from the party over his shortcomings and challenged those who disagree with him to return. His remarks drew a fiery response from BJP leaders, with West Bengal Minister Saumitra Khan warning that Abhishek should leave the TMC, while Opposition Leader Ritabrata Banerjee accused him of contradicting his earlier statements.

The rebel leaders were joining the BJP only out of fear of the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation, claimed the former CM.

Abhishek Banerjee vows to resign if rebel leaders return to Trinamool Congress, amid ongoing criticism and party turmoil.
