The National March for Palestine, organised by the Palestine Coalition including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), aims to pressure for decisive action regarding Israel's operations in Gaza. The Metropolitan Police has implemented conditions for the protest, which will commence in Russell Square at 12:45 pm, proceed through Westminster to Whitehall, and must conclude by 5:30 pm. PSC deputy director Peter Leary urged Andy Burnham to impose wide-ranging sanctions on Israel, including an arms embargo and a total ban on trade aiding international law violations, and to distance himself from Sir Keir Starmer's approach. Andy Burnham previously apologised for his party's initial stance on Gaza, advocating for stronger measures such as sanctions on trade with illegal settlements, and acknowledged “increasing evidence that war crimes appear to have been committed”.
