NEW DELHI/BENGALURU: Supreme Court on Friday extended the deadline for conducting elections to 369 wards across five city corporations under Greater Bengaluru Authority to Dec 31, 2026, accepting Karnataka's argument that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls has created logistical challenges.

Supreme Court extends Bengaluru civic polls to December 2026 due to logistical challenges from Karnataka's Special Intensive Revision.

The elections, scheduled to be held by August 31, will now take place in December after the court accepted that the revision posed logistical challenges.
