Donaldson, 63, was found guilty at Newry Crown Court of abusing two women when they were children. His solicitor, John McBurney, confirmed on Friday that appeal papers have been lodged with the relevant office for the Court of Appeal. The Northern Ireland Assembly has launched a review into alleged abuse or inappropriate behaviour by Jeffrey Donaldson at Parliament Buildings in Stormont. This review, requested by Assembly Speaker Edwin Poots, will run from 10 July to 21 August and aims to gather information from members, staff, and visitors, with a report due by 28 August.
