The initiative is the latest step in Pete Hegseth’s campaign to reshape the military around a “warrior ethos” that emphasises traditional masculinity.

U.S. troops aged 30 and above will undergo mandatory testosterone screening to address health impacts of low testosterone levels.

“This sounds suspiciously like taxpayer-funded gender affirming care,” one commenter wrote.

The secretary of defense has a questionable plan to monitor the hormone levels of every service member over 30.

"It's well-established science that as we age, testosterone levels naturally drop," Hegseth said in his video message posted on Twitter/X.
